When I was a teenager, my grandfather had to rely on my father and uncle to support him because he had run out of investment savings. He needed their help to cover his living expenses. This left a lasting impression on me. My grandfather was a very intelligent and accomplished businessman. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and then created and sold a successful business. He earned enough to retire and live very comfortably, but then he made mistakes. He invested his money ineffectively. He also never asked for, or accepted, advice. Later in his life, he encouraged me to avoid the mistakes he had made. Today, my partner Gary Rosen-Managing Director and I lead Constantine Wealth Management of Raymond James.
