Since 2003, I have been managing the food allergies and sensitivities of two children with the following combined allergies: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, bananas, kiwi, avocado, penicillen, dogs, cats and grass. My youngest is anaphylactic to peanuts and tree nuts.My MISSION: Alleviating Food Allergy Fears One Classroom At A TimeI have been public speaking and promoting allergy education for both children and adults in Utah and Idaho since 2007. My speaking engagements have included but are not limited to local schools, community events, FARE media events and a national FAACT Teen Conference. My work has been featured on radio spots and in our local newspaper, the Idaho Statesman.Smart Allergy~Friendly Education, S.A.F.E. was launched in 2010. My initial focus was blogging but has since expanded into a much more engaged venue. I offer individualized and interactive allergy awareness and education classes in community hospitals, daycares, and schools for ALL ages. The every day resources I share help to make every individual living and learning environment more allergy~friendly and safer.Through my many years in public speaking and classroom presentations, I am passionate about inspiring and motivating food allergy families to know that despite their dietary limitations, FOOD ALLERGIES and FUN can go together!
