Short bio:I am occupied by the idea of improving society using data and storytelling. I was privileged to have exceptional teachers and mentors – like Hans Rosling, a lovely family and creative STEM teachers – in my life and I want to give back. I want to share what I learnt along the way and continue to learn – building a resilient organization and mission worthy of fighting for!I am fluent in most things software, having programmed and tinkered since the age of fifteen across the stack (from Figma to graph databases to API & ontology development, various programming languages and visualization). I am an expert in data visualization and data journalism – mastering the taxonomy of charts and data structures. I've worked closely with Hans Rosling's TEDTalks and won individual awards as a data journalist. I've also led digital projects for the United Nations, The IFRC, Brookings and other organizations. I've taught data journalism at Berghs, Hyper Island, University of Barcelona and other institutions. Today, together with a wonderful team at Datastory, I am deeply involved in innovating at the intersection of civic tech and open data – aiming to build powerful pedagogical tools that educate and inspire at a global scale.
