I trained in law and started my career in general litigation before making a pivot into the telecommunications industry, specifically towercos. Instead of going in as an in-house lawyer, I decided to get into strategy and commercial contract management. I'm now focusing on M&A and strategic projects.Outside of my day job, I channel my passion into advocacy and law reform work with civil society organisations. I am currently the President of Association of Women Lawyers (AWL) and a member of the Reproductive Rights Advocacy Alliance Malaysia (RRAAM). I have been involved in civil society movements for over a decade. Since 2017, I have been part of the Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG)’s drafting team for the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act 2022, and continue to lobby and advocate for the inclusion of key provisions that weren't included in the legislation. In 2016, I was part of the task force on the establishment of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Prior to that I was also the Co-Chairperson of the Malaysian Bar's National Young Lawyers' Committee between 2015 - 2016 where we campaigned for the repeal of the Sedition Act, and was a steerco member of the Gender Equality Initiative - a project aimed at law students, advocating for gender equality. I also train and judge at moot court competitions.My more recent projects include the establishment of a new Online Safety Act, Projek30percent - a campaign to get more women in politics and a campaign to end child marriage in Malaysia - #PelajarBukanPengantin #StudentsNotBrides
