Detective Division - Crime Analysis Section
Supervised, trained, coordinated, and directed the work flow of the crime analysts assigned to the Crime Analysis Section. Responsible for the unit’s collection, collation and analysis of crime data to identify existing and developing crime patterns; Monitored and evaluated the job performance of subordinates; prepared and reviewed performance evaluations; handled disciplinary actions; and approved and monitored leave requests; Planned, coordinated and reviewed work assignments, projects, and programs. Oversaw the crime analysis process using various research methods and tools to track crime incidents; Provided complex statistical reports and identified crime and forecast trends as it related to the community at large; Created charts, graphs, maps and spreadsheets based on temporal, location, or sequence of criminal operations or activities based on analysis of data or information. Responded to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests; Coordinated, prepared, and presented current crime trends and patterns for presentation at departmental COMPSTAT meetings for departmental command staff. Attended meetings and served as a liaison with national, state, regional crime analysis and law enforcement agencies on crime information, trends, and series. Performed other duties as assigned.
