I was a part of the Cost Team during a period of rising inflationary costs, as well as tough economic conditions. One of the teams main goals was to implement proactive cost savings across the business. Continued to build on the knowledge of FTE budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Becoming a key point of contact for any internal queries, allowing me to gain and maintain healthy working relationships with all stakeholders. Assisted the Head of Costs with a review of the Group Recharges processes.Finance Business Partner (FBP) - generating monthly MI to monitor actuals against planned spend. Produced yearly budgets, rolling forecasts as well as 5-year strategic plans.

Full-time equivalent (FTE) forecasting. Maintaining the monthly joiners and leavers as well as working alongside the People Team to manage any queries generated by the business. FTE Budgeting. Heavily involved in discussions surrounding headcount requests through the budget process. Providing cost analysis and data which was used in Executive presentations.

Provided support to the Financial Reporting team with activities such as (but not limited to): preparation of management accounts, monthly reporting, remuneration schemes and statutory account production. I was also responsible for collating the data utilised in the Client Money and Assets Return (CMAR). Using different sources from across the business I prepared a document which was submitted for review by the CASS Committee before I input into Wires (Gabriel), the FCA’s regulatory data recording system.

Over my placement year I took on key responsibilities to support the Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR) FP&A team. These responsibilities included but were not limited to the following…NPI• NPI reporting & query resolution for the UKLiquidations & Vouchering• Weekly liquidation reports and query resolution for UK – to facilitate tracking of vouchered hours against qtrly estimates• Efficiency reviews for RMR manufacturing – to facilitate controlling hours versus standards and budgets to maintain and improve margins• Daily Utilisation report production for RMR – to facilitate the tracking of how utilised the manufacturing shop floor staff are. This allows decisions on headcount and skill requirements• Hours Vouchering reconciliations – to ensure all productive hours are captured and transacted correctly to recover business costs from our customersStock Accounting & Control• Physical inventory count sheet issuing – to ensure that all stock is counted at least once throughout the year prior to annual stock take• Physical inventory count audits – to audit the counts that are conducted on a daily basis• Cost roll-ups - to ensure correct pricing of materials to projects
