I am currently the chief of staff to the superintendent of the Harris County Department of Education, providing highly specialized services to area schools and students. As an award-winning collegiate athlete and then as a coach at the University of Texas, I helped build highly competitive teams and was honored as part of the 2015 CRCA National Coaching Staff of the Year. I did project management in the private sector before getting my Master’s of Public Affairs from the LBJ School. As the Director of Boards and Commissions for Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner, I advised the mayor on the 150 boards, commissions, and committees regulating the nation’s most diverse city. I have been teaching young women about government and citizenship for fun since 2003, and when I am not at work, I am I am loving on two standard poodles and remodeling a 95 year-old house.
