I have a PhD in Gothic literature - juggled while working part-time and having two children. My dedication was put to the test! I work as Governance Lead at a Multi Academy Trust, in which I have extensive experience in delivering and managing projects, with a specific focus on areas of administration, GDPR, compliance and governance. The latter includes line managing all clerks in the schools, advising trustees and local governing bodies, overseeing recruitment of trustees including devising and writing recruitment strategy, adverts and recruitment pack, I conduct all the inductions. I have completed an NGA Level 3 accredited course to assist. My current project is devising a governance effectiveness strategy to ensure the consistent monitoring and achieving of effective governance across the trust, I manage the website and internal and external newsletter communications. I am the main point of contact for all the above with the schools in our Trust. Prior to this role I was an Events Manager at the University of Leicester and I still use these skills in organising trust-wide events such as the annual story-writing competition and awards ceremony for our primary pupils across the trust. I therefore have many wide-ranging skills and experience. My PhD gave me skills in research, writing and translating ideas into word form and I still enjoy this side of any role. Professionally, I also possess the inter-personal skills needed to develop relationships with external stakeholders, as well as staff across the trust.I live at home with my husband, my two daughters (8 and 9) and our rescue dog Blondie. In my spare time (when not ferrying children to various classes) I am an avid runner and I LOVE to read.
