As a veterinary assistant, my main duties included collecting blood and urine samples, administering vaccines, drawing and administering medications, handling and restraining fractious patients, wound care, performing ear and skin cytologies, preparing various biological samples, performing radiographs, etc. I am comfortable working with all types of animals as our veterinary hospital catered to not only dogs, cats, and rabbits, but also reptiles, pocket pets, and other exotics. I was able to spend a good portion of my day with pet owners one on one, going over treatment plans, new medications, surgery details, end of life care, and general questions and concerns. I pride myself in providing clear, positive communication and education to clients.

As a store support supervisor, I was part of a leadership team of 7 that led over 200 team members from various departments including our front end team of cashiers, cashier assistants, sanitation team, cash office team, store support specialists, as well as our extensive Prime Now team of online grocery shoppers which we piloted at our location. Our team’s practices with Prime Now are now being taught nationwide. I can still be found in some of our Prime Now training videos. Leading during the Covid-19 pandemic was a unique opportunity to hone my servant leadership style and go above and beyond for both my team and our guests. This supervisory role gave me the platform to learn how to best invest and care for team members through anticipating needs, delegating with individuals’ giftings in mind, offering opportunities for growth based on individuals’ goals and the team’s needs, as well as continually cultivating a positive work culture with a strong “one store one team” mentality. I was also able to cross train with multiple departments, including the produce, floral, meat, seafood, and grocery teams extensively. I was a part of multiple interview boards for new managers, supervisors, and team trainers.

For almost six years, I nannied full-time for multiple families and babysat for many more. I specialized in care for newborns and children with special needs.
