I am currently a solicitor and Partner in the personal injury department at Stephensons Solicitors LLP. I joined Stephensons' personal injury department in November 2006 and secured a training contract with the firm, which involved working in various departments across the firm. I returned to the personal injury department in November 2010 and qualified as a solicitor in March 2011.I now deal with a wide variety of personal injury cases including:• Accidents at work• Public liability cases• Occupier's liability cases• Product liability cases• Complex CICA claims• Child abuse claims• Complex road traffic accidents• Industrial diseaseI was appointed an Associate of the firm in May 2014 and was appointed a Partner of the firm in May 2018. In addition to my fee earning role, I have also been heavily involved in risk assessing new files coming into the department, developing IT systems, supervising other fee earners/new business advisors and practice development. In December 2022, I was appointed Head of the Personal Injury team and I am now responsible for managing all aspects of the team, including staffing, supervision, business planning, budgeting, practice development etc.

During my time as a trainee solicitor at Stephensons, I did 6 month stints in various departments across the firm. As I was studying the LPC part-time (at weekends) whilst completing my training contract, I was required to do 5 seats in total, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I began my training contract in the Family department in Wigan where I regularly attended court hearings and appointments with clients. I then worked in the Consumer department in Leigh where I worked on a variety of civil litigation matters before moving to the Clinical Negligence department in Leigh for 6 months. I then did 6 months in the Employment department in Wigan/Horwich which involved dealing with cases on behalf of both employers and employees. Finally, I completed my training contract in the Personal Injury department and qualified as a solicitor in that department.
