Carters Solicitors is a progressive and dynamic law firm specialising in Criminal Defence. I have undertaken fee earner work on criminal matters including Murder, GBH, Rape and Sexual Offences, Firearms, Burglary, Fraud, Proceeds of Crime, Drugs (Class A and B) and Money Laundering. I have also undertaken fee earner work on a successful immigration case in which the client was granted leave to remain, as well as complex family cases. I have experience in conducting client conferences, prison visits, drafting and serving defence statements, proceeds of crime statements and witness statements. In addition, I have drafted and served initial bail applications as well as applications to vary bail conditions to the Court. I have assisted Counsel, Solicitors and Advocates in several Court proceedings, as well as assisting Solicitors and representatives with Police Station interviews. I have also provided legal advice at The Citizens Advice Bureau under the advice and assistance scheme. Additionally, I created a marketing plan for the firm, which is currently being implemented.

Assisting the facilitation of the intellectual property protection process worldwide. IP-Coster is designed to generate accurate cost estimates, initiate direct filings and provide workflow solutions for patents, utility models, trademarks and industrial designs worldwide. I advise clients as to the requirements of filing for patents, trademarks, design rights and other IP protections internationally as well as conducting legal research into intellectual property laws and developments. I have drafted several intellectual property guides for various jurisdictions which are frequently utilized by our members. I have acted as a representative for IP-Coster at the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) World Congress in Mexico as well as London IP Week.

Amicus ALJ is a small international charity that helps to provide representation for those facing the death penalty in the United States. I attended the Amicus training conference held at Baker McKenzie in March 2018, which included pre trial litigation, obtaining discovery, reviewing case records, interviewing expert witnesses, investigation and mitigation. I acted as a delegate at the Autumn training conference held at Pinsent Masons and am an Amicus representative for the University of Law.

I delivered workshops within schools aimed at developing necessary skills for further education and employment, increasing confidence and encouraging further education participation. I worked closely with the project co-ordinators and fellow mentors to design workshops in line with the transformation trusts aims and ethos on a range of topics including Law, Human Rights, Climate Change and The United Nations.

Coordination of projects and mental health groups throughout Kent, regularly managing complex caseloads. I helped to meet client and service user needs through management and careful consideration of mental well being activities as well as liaising with various organisations including the NHS and Mind. I prepared project reports, adhering to deadlines and guidelines for a variety of sensitive matters. In addition, I co-facilitated several well being groups, including our GP or Canterbury Mental Health Team referral-only Crisis Group.

Through The Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service, and funded by strategic partner Tender, I facilitated projects within schools aimed to educate young people about domestic abuse, early warning signs, prevention and support. This was achieved through open, creative workshops that explored the healthy and unhealthy aspects of relationships, empowering the students to consider their attitudes and behaviour in an age appropriate way. The student participants became Ambassadors for healthy relationships within their schools.
