My two passions are psychology and art. I have been drawing and painting since I could hold a pencil, crayon or a brush in my little hand. Psychology on the other hand was introduced to me later, during high school, through famous experiments such as Asch Conformity experiments, the Bystander Effect or Learned Helplessness tested by Seligman. Growing up, I was wondering how could I blend the two. I started with studying Visual Arts at Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design, and received my BA in 2010.The year after I was already studying Psychology at Geneva's University, achieving my BA in the end of 2013. Over the years, I came to the conclusion that psychology is a dynamic field, where art can definitely find its place. Artistic activities are useful for patients whom sharing their stories and history is not always possible, such as those who encountered a traumatic event.Although focusing at present in illustrating for Society6, I hope one day to become an Art Therapist, developing further the practical application of art as a therapy through in-house and placement experience.Danielle.
