Danielle Cohen has been an immigration and human rights lawyer since 1998, and established her firm in 2004. Danielle specialises in all aspects of immigration, asylum, and human rights law, as well as citizenship law, successfully acting for businesses and individuals from all over the world. Her vision for her firm was to create a humane and personalised approach to client care and immigration, having recognised as a practitioner the unnecessary bureaucratic and faceless nature of the immigration system. The firm operates in accordance with its moto “more humanity less formality” and is known for the understanding approach it takes to its clients. The firm is firmly committed to front load applications, going over and above the basic requirements of the immigration rules, including the input of expert witnesses and arguing the case at the highest possible level. Danielle is widely considered one of the foremost immigration experts in the UK. In 2022, she was elected to the Law Society Council, representing the women’s lawyers’ seat. Danielle has extensive voluntary work experience throughout her career which has given her insight into many sectors of society. •In 2023, she set up a scheme with “Women Refugee”, providing a 6-month empowerment programme for up to 15 women seeking asylum in the UK where she offered advice and taught pro-bono.•From June 2019 to 2021, she was a member of the Advisory Group to the Judicial Appointment Commission.•From 2018 to 2021, she was a member of the Women’s Lawyer Division of the Law Society.•From October 2017 to 2019 she was a trustee at ILPA. •From 1998 to 2000, as part of the Refugee Women’s Legal Group Drafting Committee, she helped to produce the general guidelines for the determination of women’s asylum claims “Women as Asylum Seekers”. •From 1996 to 1998, as a director of Westminster Women’s Aid a voluntary organisation for victims of domestic violence.
