I am a dedicated secondary teacher with a passion for enhancing educational development through efficient, creative and adventurous pedagogies. I am passionate about the Humanities and English, however, Geography is where I specialise. In a world that is constantly changing, for better and worse, and evolving, understanding Geography and its physical and human elements/interactions has never been more important. We have a responsibility to live in harmony with nature, not against it. My work as a Geography teacher centres on encouraging the youth to better understand this importance and live mindfully and sustainably. Just as care begets care, action begets action. My teaching career began in 2017. Since then I have worked in a number of different schools and locations, including metropolitan and rural South Australia and abroad to the UK. I have learnt to adapt to new environments and curriculum demands which has contributed to the essential growth and development of my teaching practice. My teaching style encompasses high levels of energy, ongoing kindness and holistic support for individual students. Promoting, enabling and nurturing respectful relationships is paramount to my teaching, it is through my positive and kind nature that I am able to forge these connections and enhance student learning. A previous student of mine once quoted Brad Henry to me stating, "A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instil the love of learning." There are no truer words and it is these moments that reaffirm my mission as a teacher.
