My main scientific interests lie within the genetic causes of cancer, secondary use of research data, and pediatric and prostate cancers. I also have a strong basic science background in fundamental cell processes (e.g. DNA replication and repair). I use these skills to support cancer researchers, to guide publicly funded cancer research projects, and to advocate for researchers and innovative scientific ventures. Currently I am a Program Director in the National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences. I have led NCI Cancer Survivorship initiatives (e.g. RFA-CA-027 and RFA-CA-028) and manage a portfolio of grants related to genetic factors modulating susceptibility to cancers, including prostate, pediatric and adolescent/young adult cancers. As a member of the Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research Program leadership team, I promote the creation and use of a valuable pediatric data resource.
Listed skills include Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Life Sciences, and 15 others.
