Profile bio

About Danielle Deese

My qualifications in the engineering field very with electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. I also have skills with multiple Computer Aid Design (CAD) systems. Starting out in high school I took various drafting classes these classes began my knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and architectural drafting. During these classes I got experience with different CAD software like SolidWorks, and Revit Architecture. Going on to college I received more training and took more CAD classes. In college most of the projects that I designed were with SolidWorks. I got to design a tube bender mechanism for NAVAIR, as well as, design a 3-D printer. With SolidWorks I got the chance to also 3-D print individual parts that I used in building an autonomous robot, a jar opener, puzzle box, the 3-D printer, and the tube bender mechanism. Also, I have continued to expand my CAD knowledge as I have become familiar with other modeling software like Visio, and ArcMap through internships and shadowing a Mapping Engineer.Through internships and other work experience I have had the opportunity to work in the field and not just in an office setting. While spending time at the North Anna Nuclear Power Station, I got to participate in walk-downs in radiation protected areas in order to check over design changes. I also had the opportunity to intern with NCSU Mineral Research Laboratory, there I worked with rock crushers of varying sizes, and hazardous chemicals. Both experiences helped me to be comfortable doing hands on jobs, as well as, being comfortable working in an environment with a higher danger factor.
