Worked to form key relationships with other minority and health organizations. Prepared testimony to the Congress of the United States on issues relating to federal Indian law, health law and policy, urban development, community health initiatives, and Indian health disparities. Developed Urban Indian responses to the Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) proposed regulation. Worked on national health care reform developing Urban Indian policy positions and papers, provided responses to Congressional draft legislation and Congressional requests for information, drafted proposed amendments, briefed members of Congress on issues impacting the Indian health delivery system and provided briefings and analysis to Urban Indian health programs and clinics.
