These programs include testing and counseling for HIV/STDs as well as linkage to medical care. Phlebotomy skills are required (drawing blood). This position provides education for other infectious diseases as needed during outbreaks, provides technical assistance as needed to community-based organizations, ensures that coordinated community-care and referrals are offered to newly infected HIV positive persons, serves as an information resource, and is available as needed for emergency activities as directed by public health administration. In addition, this position will facilitate the onsite ITTS clinic for non-traditional testing two half days weekly each Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings respectively. Also, this position will work on activities to address substance abuse referral and during Counseling Testing and Referral Services. This position will be responsible for reaching out to those who may have substance abuse issues and encouraging them to get tested so that they are aware of their status and prevention strategies that they can undertake. This position will also address those populations that are at highest risk for HIV by providing additional counseling on PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and information on how to obtain it.
