Too many golfers die playing the game they love.That’s an unfortunate fact. And that’s what Life Saver Golf addresses with its “Saving Lives While Saving Par” national campaign. It truly is a life-changing and saving mission.“Every week on one of our nation's golf courses, at least one golfer dies from a heart-related problem,” says Danielle Lenaway, founder of Life Saver Golf. “It’s a very sad statistic: golf courses are the fifth-most common public place for incidents of sudden cardiac arrest, the number one cause of death in the US.” An eye-popping 75% of America’s golf courses are not properly prepared to handle a cardiac medical emergency. The ongoing problem is why Lenaway founded Life Saver Golf with the support of Dennis Cone of the Professional Caddy Association. Life Saver Golf programs seek to improve CPR, first aid and AED -readiness at all golf facilities. The LSG & PCA team wants to help prevent tragedies and to help ensure that all golfers and golf course personnel lead healthier, stronger and more productive lives.
