Since 1 december 2017, I joined De Roma vzw to become general director. This performing arts venue in Borgerhout hosts concerts, films, theater, circus and critical debates in the heart of urban diversity. Till June 2018, the old coordinator and me, as the new one, will function side-to-side.I was for 17 years Research Manager and teacher in the Master Social Work at University of Antwerp on urban intervention strategies (social problems and policies).I supervised many research projects on welfare state, poverty, social exclusion, migrants, governance, social service organisations, users participation, civil society, and active inclusion / labour market, funded by public bodies such as European, local, federal and regional governments, and private actors such as foundations, firms and civil society organisations.I have an extensive background in evaluation and consultancy in international settings (Europe, Africa). I participated e.g. in EU-FP7 evaluation panels, in expert committees of the Council of Europe, EU-COST Actions, in international academic cooperation.I have management experience in several boards within university, government and in civil society organisations and am familiar with communicating with different stakeholders in the fields of interdisciplinary research, policies, media and civil society.
