I have a passion for Therapeutic Horticulture and I am currently working as Senior Trainer in this field working with participants from all walks of life including NDIS participants. In this role I provide oppurtunities for experiential learning with meaningful activites deisgned to promote recreation, personal development and wellbeing . I believe plants and nature based activities' can improve the physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing of those involved no matter thier age, background or abilities.I have over 20 years experience working in local government managing a team of Park Rangers and running Environmental Education programs for schools and the wider community. In this role I worked closely with community services, event stategists, park planners and landscape architects. This has provided me with an excellent understanding of the challenges involved in both open space management, event management and interpreting our natural and cultural heritage. During my career I have developed a skills base that revolves around successfully managing diverse teams, community education, customer service, conflict resolution and resource management. I enjoy devising programs that give children and diverse groups a voice through consultation, collaboration and engagement with the environment. The most notable of which was Royal Park Nature Play and Docklands Integration. Through my involvement with the The Third Space Collective I hope to bring attention to the possibilities inherent in our neglected public open spaces and create spaces and places for communities to connect with nature and each other.
