I train individuals from organizations statewide to understand race and racism, and to implement antiracist policies and practices on an interpersonal and organizational level.

As a private consultant, I offer supportive services to individual and group leaders of nonprofit organizations who are interested in anti-oppressive frameworks within which to achieve social justice. Services include mental health/clinical therapy, social work supervision, antiracist fund development (including grant writing), anti-oppressive leadership coaching, and other consulting services.

Education advocacy, program evaluation, supervision, community outreach, grant writing, grant reporting, staff training, fundraising, event planning.

Research existing foster care support programs for recruitment and retention strategies. I also attend several community and campus events in efforts to partner with other groups and gain visibility. Other duties include networking, creating training curriculum, recruiting and training mentors, creating culturally competent tracking and intake forms, and creating adhering to timelines for several team-based tasks.

I made regular juvenile court system appearances to advocate for children and families. Other duties include assessments, developing treatment goals with families, attending and facilitating Family Team Meetings, completing quarterly court reports and service plans on each client, with a case load ranging from 15-25 clients. Crisis intervention was a major component of the job, including abruptly replacing a child into a new home, calling Protective Service Referrals and de-escalating youth while in mental health crisis situations. I have worked with a wide range of educational, cultural and economic backgrounds. My foster care experience ranges from Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties.

Facilitation of group discussion about intimate partner violence. Male offenders of violence against partners and children were charged with accepting responsibility for violent acts, learn the effects of power and control, and developing skills to communicate productively with women.

Case management services in furtherance of permanency planning goals (reunification, adoption, guardianship, independent living, etc.) for youth experiencing the foster care system. Advocating for educational, medical, psychological, emotional and housing needs for youth and families engaged in the child welfare system.

I performed home-based services with at risk families, working closely with Children's and Adult Protective Services to reduce risk of children being removed from their birth home. Tasks included pre- and post- intervention assessments, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, crisis management, resource development, daily living skills, mentoring and education. These tasks were completed using a humanistic approach, utilizing strengths of the family and individuals in the family to have positive engagement.
