Focused on building on nature-based climate solutions that are specialised in the area of blue growth, the bioeconomy, and regenerative agriculture. Previous to this my research was in biotechnology, microbiology, genetic and metabolic pathway engineering for efficient flux of carbon metabolism. This work centred on improving commodity chemical and renewable fuel synthesis in eukaryotes and bacteria as an alternative to our dependence on fossil fuels. Currently applying this experience to altering the rumen microbiome naturally for GHG mitigation, resource efficiency improvement and resilience in agriculture, using nature-based approaches in design.
