I currently work as an Assistant Forest Manager at Tilhill Forestry. In this role I assist in the management of forestry operations and engage in development opportunities to improve my forestry knowledge and practical skills. I am particularly interested in how the forestry sector can get ahead of challenges presented by climate change. In my previous career I worked as a Critical Care, Gastroenterology and Surgical Specialist Dietitian within the NHS. Throughout my career I covered various specialist and rotational posts, including intestinal failure, critical care, gastroenterology, surgical, oncology and stroke rehabilitation. This included setting up a dietetic service to a newly established Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. I was also a BDA Public Health Champion, volunteer with Diabetes UK and Treasurer for the BDA West of Scotland Branch.Prior to this, I completed an internship with the Nutrition Promotion Consultancy Service and lead a baseline nutrition survey in slum areas of Kathmandu, Nepal as part of the USAID funded SUUAHARA project. The research was used to evaluate the nutritional status of mothers and children under 5 years and provide evidence-base guidance for nutrition intervention.
