I work alongside people let down by systems and experiencing health inequality in Tottenham and Wood Green, working with North Central London NHS and the London Borough of Haringey.

Led the first non-commissioned coaching pilot funded by Lankelly Chase to explore what happens when people accessing services are able to have more choice and control. As part of the project we repurposed traditional "support work" as person-led coaching for people let down by multiple systems (ie homelessness, mental health).

Work with a team of community leaders and people with dementia to make our community more dementia friendly.

Year long project which culminated in PM commitments on loneliness.

-Lead Community Organiser for Walthamstow Labour Party - leading campaigns on tenants rights, SRE in schools and the 2015 general election-Led the campaign returning a Labour MP to parliament with a 17% swing to Labour - the second largest in the country and a 23,000 majority

Organised the inaugural Commonwealth Student Congress in Nassau, Bahamas

Working with three French families between Nice and Cannes.

NUS UK is the largest membership organisation in the UK and the largest membership of students in Europe with nearly 200 staff and an annual turnover of £15 million. I oversaw an annual budget of £17,000, led a team of three members of staff and a committee of six elected officers on work to champion students in the UK as active and engaged citizens and helped roll out a national programme to train students as community organisers to campaign for a living wage and to start the process for organising in the run-up to the 2015 General Election.

As President and re-elected for a second term, I represented 17,000 students at home and abroad, was a voting member of the university’s governing body and chaired the Trustee Board which was responsible for an annual turnover of over £5 million. I regularly presented on the Guild’s strategic plan and the importance of the student voice to the University’s Council and Senior Management Team.Achievements included; • Fought and won against the closure of three university departments when we got them to backtrack on their decision•As a result of setting up student-led ‘scrutiny committees’ to support better democracy and governance for the Guild, we won the Award for the ‘Most Accountable Organisation in the UK’ from the Centre for Public Scrutiny in 2009• Working with our black students group to run an event on the relevance of the Civil Rights struggle to Liverpool with Rev. Jesse Jackson which got national attention.

I worked closely with leading reporters, transcribing and summarising undercover footage and exposing corruption in various pharmaceutical industries.Key Achievements included helping to expose a number of individuals with allegations of corruption regarding drug patents which were highlighted in the main programme.

As part of my year abroad in the third year of my degree to conduct fieldwork for my dissertation, I spent a year working for a charity in Swaziland working with orphaned and vulnerable children who had often been living on the street. I worked closely with women’s groups and ran a leadership programme to develop local women leaders and designed and implemented a summer programme, managing a group of ten volunteers with home visits.

I worked on weekends and in the holidays with young disabled people across Surrey running youth programs and activities with a small team of people. There was a great deal of flexibility in the role and that allowed us to innovate in the kind of activities we planned.

I worked evenings and weekends at my local chippy. I often worked late nights hence had to serve unruly customers! I served Norman Wisdom once and he tipped me fairly generously.
