CurrentStatewide Business Consultant working all counties in California for labor market research, sector strategies and developing work experience for students with disabilities ages 16 to 21 years old. Working as the subject matter expert for the Foundation of Community Colleges grant providing paid work experience for youth. Coordinating and conducting trainings statewide on disability etiquette, awareness and the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. Electronic record keeping system management for fiscal, and consumer case management. Employment Coordinator/Business Specialist for youth and adults with disabilities. Creating and facilitating educational classes, workshops and exploration trainings to empower growth and development. Assessing barriers such as: mental health, physical health, learning disabilities as well as environmental barriers such as transportation and legal history, to develop a plan of action as well as treatment plans by consulting and recommend training programs and careers to Vocational Counselors. Responsible for organizing and coordinating recruitment of jobs for people with disabilities, this includes hosting interviews, job fairs, attending career fairs, homeless events and healthcare events. Researching and educating consumers on ADA, labor laws and regulations. Attending and participating in local Chamber of Commerce events, community development, State of the City and various educational foundations. Presenting this information to DOR staff to ensure consumers are being encouraged and informed about upcoming labor market trends. Business development; Networking, building partnerships, educating on tax incentives, DOR support services, Windmills training, on the job training and placements to local business owners. Researching labor market, economical trends, new training programs and career paths, community growth and development. Complete monthly and annual reports on consumer growth, interviews, and job placements.
