During my many years with Animal I have built up a wealth of experience and taken on a variety of different roles, most recently as Regional Manager being fully accountable for up to 12 stores spread across South England from Dorset across to Norwich. I also remained a Store Manager throughout my time with the brand leading a profitable store for the past 10 years. Area Manager overseeing the daily operations of a chain of 3 British Supermarkets. Responsible for recruitment, training, stock management, customer service, H&S including food hygiene and handling in a butchery department.

This role required extensive product knowledge selling a wide variety of furniture and home furnishings spread across 3 large showrooms on one site. New products were regularly introduced so self-learning was constant to be able to confidently and knowledgably sell not only products that were physically in stock but also a great number more that were available to order through various suppliers from brochures and catalogues. The majority of clients were shopping for full home packages which required spending sometimes hours at a time with a client to find products to suit their needs to furnish their entire holiday home offering them an exceptional personal shopping experience. This involved matching them with products for every room in their home from the furniture through to soft furnishings, appliances, lighting and even their cutlery. This required excellent listening skills to understand the visions clients had for their homes to guide them in the process and find the best products to suit their budgets. Paperwork accuracy was essential to ensure the items ordered were exact to the customers’ requirements. I also had to co-ordinate delivery schedules to ensure everything arrived on time for the install. On several occasions I went to clients properties to oversee the installs and assist where needed seeing their properties go from an empty shell to become a home.
