I currently am employed as a Full-Time Park Ranger at Green Lane Park and Central Perkiomen Valley Park. I’ve worked for Montgomery County Parks, Trails & Historic Sites for 4 years and I’ve come to grasp the public and private sectors of working for the park. I am well versed in interpretive programming as I’ve both volunteered to assist in other programs and led my own. For example, I’ve conducted a series of programs pertaining to Archaeology for Kids at Green Lane Park. My first program was held in February 2020, where I taught kids aged 7-12 spatial awareness, map making, artifact identification, archaeology and a brief history of the Lenape. My second program was held June 2021 where I taught kids 7-12 excavation, classification and interpretation. In both programs, I used a variety of audiovisual and hands-on techniques to convey the information. Through these programs I gained the confidence for public speaking and rather a love for sharing my interests with children and their parents in an interpretive manner. At Green Lane and Central Perkiomen Valley Park, I’ve learned and developed skills that allow me to communicate effectively with the public and outside agencies.
