My role, responsibilities and achievements included: - Worked with the Smart Business Readiness team to develop a plan for ensuring Digital are ready to take on Smart as part of our everyday activity and thinking.- Supported the P&C Manager with PM activities to deliver the 2017-2020 strategy and a scheme paper for Digital Investment for 2017-2020.- Supported the transformation team with launch activity for major released functionality. - Created business cases for 15 ideas in the digital ideas hopper and taken to the roadmap review for consideration. - Created the hopper reporting tool which reports on hopper health and allows the team now to understand the status of items in the hopper and the implications of this. - Prioritisation tool/ benefits calculator created which enabled a high level benefit band to be assigned to all 300+ items in the hopper- Led on the digital transformation work in partners project, culminating in the launch of digital advocates in Teleperformance (total of 7 new advocates and 175 advisers set up on Agent View application)- Created Digital Smart readiness roadmap and implemented this roadmap through running workshops for over 60 people across all 5 digital teams.- Created the role and embedded 17 Smart Champions across the digital team to ensure that digital were ready to take on Smart as part of their everyday work- Ran a Smart Hack Day which created 120 User Stories for the site intelligence project thus enabling it to stay on track.

My role as a marketing assistant within the National Governing Body for Wheelchair Dance Sport (WDSA UK) was to undertake tasks such as writing press releases and helping come up with potential concepts for the 2015/16 marketing strategy for the company. Because the WDSA has a small niche market it allowed me to get stuck in with real world tasks that have immediate effect on people undertaking the wheelchair dance classes/ competitions the WDSA runs. Although this role was only meant to be summer work experience my manager has asked me to continue to work for the WDSA part time from Leeds communicating with him via email/ Skype. Whilst I am at University I am being sent assignments/ work to do and then hope to return to work (unpaid) for the company again at Christmas. This aspect of the role shows I am flexible in my work and that I am prepared to support my team even from a distance.

During my year abroad in Australia I volunteered on Naviti island in Fiji on an education project and a sustainable living project. My main responsibilities on the eduction project was to help the children learn to read english. I worked with students aged 5-14, many of whom spoke very little English. It was my responsibility to prepare them for their class tests and ensure they were on the right track to passing their English exam at the end of the year. On the sustainable living project I worked on it was my responsibility to work as part of a team to help build a rain water tank in one of the local villages. It was my responsibility to ensure that all the correct materials and tools got put on the boat in the morning when we left our accommodation. In addition to this I was responsible for ensuring we stuck to our strict time scale as we only had 5 days to complete the project. Often this meant keeping workers later than they desired and it was my responsibility to communicate this with the rest of the team.

This work experience allowed me to be involved with a current marketing campaign being pitched at a local village who were opposed to an upcoming wind farm being built just outside of their local village. My role was to collaborate with other members of the team to come up with fresh ideas for the mood boards to show the people of the village how little the potential wind farm would interfere with their daily lives. In addition to this I was also responsible for writing set answers to potential questions we may get asked on the day. On the day of the pitch I was part of a team who had to speak to members of the public and answer any concerns they had about the project. This role involved being firm in my principles and conveying my argument in a polite yet persuasive manor. Another aspect of my role here was involved with investigating new sites for potential wind farm construction. This involved using GIS programs to investigate new sites, taking into consideration factors such as bird flight patterns, distance from the nearest town/ village and wind direction.

This work experience gave me vital understanding of processes and programs I needed to use for my work experience at Bolsterstone Wind Power. During my work experience here I gained experience using statistical analysis programs.
