Danielle Hughes is a supervisor within the Efficiency Division of CEC working in standards compliance. She has broad interests in good land use principles including facilitating and implementing safe, environmentally positive solutions in clean energy, transportation, and recreation.Prior to public service, Danielle worked in private consulting throughout California and Nevada, as a senior project manager and hydrologist providing environmental services for projects and programs that span local and regional infrastructure improvements, general planning processes, site-specific development, and ecosystem restoration. She brings 20 years of project management, energy, transportation, natural resource, and land use planning. Danielle has successfully coordinated interdisciplinary teams of scientists in planning efforts for several Environmental Improvement Projects throughout the Tahoe Basin. She advocates for cross jurisdictional solutions and a cooperative environment embracing advanced solutions in climate adaption, alternative energy, information and communication technology, and alternative modes of transportation to address the increase in visitation to one of the most globally recognized natural resources areas. She serves on the board of the North Tahoe Public Utility District.
