Currently I am working at the Legacy of Hope Foundation as a researcher and Project Officer in the Education department, and I am committed to reconciliation and reparation as a mindful and sincere action in my life. As acting manager of the department for 10 months, I supervised and led a team of 5, and was successful in securing funding for three different projects. As a Project Officer, I currently supervise a rotation of up to 10 volunteers at any given time. I have experience with curriculum development, grant and proposal writing, event planning and workshop facilitation, archival research, project management and community engagement. I was a certified, professional birth and postpartum doula, child birth educator and lactation educator, and have attended over 100 births. I have been a member of the Ottawa Hospital's Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC) since May 2022. I am an experienced organic grower and have taken training in permaculture systems, community gardening, collective kitchens, and I ran a small CSA for 2 summers. Some of the projects I am involved with at the Legacy of Hope Foundation looks to strengthen and empower Indigenous youth through local food sovereignty and land based food projects. I have a strong interest in BIPOC food sovereignty, Reconciliation, and infant and Black maternal health.
