I’ve basically spent my entire life in front of the camera. Now, as the Co-Founder of Dam+West, I’ve happily stepped behind it. You might recognize me as the beloved character, Vicki, on Community, as well as the voice of Whole Foods and Fisher Price toys, among others. But while my face or voice put me on the map, what I’ve realized in my years of being in show biz is that I have a natural ability to help people overcome something very unnatural — being in front of the camera. Having a camera on you, unless you’re a reality TV star, isn’t normal (and even then is it normal?). So, for a business owner or senior leader, I help you erase that awkward feeling and create a natural and engaging performance. An empath at heart, I’ve been told that I have an ability to hear what’s not being said and I pride myself on being an excellent communicator and a positive collaborator. In other words, I will coach and champion you to get the best and most natural performance you can deliver. Being an expert in film isn't just putting a camera on someone and having them talk. It’s an art form built around telling a story and using visuals to elevate that story. A vital component of this is technical savvy. We could talk about equipment and nerd out for days (and by we, I mean my business partner: see below), but the bottom line is that we think of everything: from the shots and the clothes to the angles, the sound and the editing — delivering a result beyond your expectations. My business partner is also my life partner — my husband — and together we share a home and a family, as well as a multi-decade career in TV and Film. Because of this, we only know what we know. And what we know is how to tell stories that matter for forward-thinking brands — and make them look “Dam” good (see what I did there?). I escaped Hollywood a few years ago and now live in Stamford, CT with my husband and two kids. When I’m not being my children’s chauffeur and #1 hockey fan, I love to see theater, go for walks in nature, listen to comedy or business podcasts and play Mah-Jongg (if you play, invite me to your group).
