CurrentManage all communications for PennDOT’s Safety Administration (SA) Deputate that consists of approximately 1,000 employees who serve Pennsylvania’s licensed drivers and motor vehicle owners, while reinforcing PennDOT’s key messages of safety, customer service, productivity and quality of life. Serve as PennDOT’s spokesperson regarding statewide driver and vehicle service related topics, and prepare or direct the preparation of press releases, media advisories, articles, editorials and other materials. Direct a professional communications staff of three. Develop and deploy comprehensive public information and education campaigns concerning SA’s highly visible programs, products and services tailored to meet the needs of various stakeholders. Manage contracts and correlating budgets associated with SA marketing campaigns. Oversee the procurement of graphics services and the compilation of graphic expenditures for SA to identify cost‐savingmeasures. Manage PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, a primary service channel for customers. Prepare testimony/talking points/briefings/speeches for the Deputy Secretary of Safety Administration as well as other deputate and department staff. Oversee the development and implementation of an employee communications plandesigned to provide employees with essential information about SA’s procedures, programs, products and services as well as PennDOT and commonwealth information. Serve as SA’s Right to Know Law coordinator. Participate in Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) exercises and assist PEMA’s Joint Information Center during emergencies, when requested.
