Researched and developed grants that protected the natural resources of the inland NW. Grant topics included: transitioning direct-seeded oilseeds into crop rotations, stream restorations, improving nutrient application, and soil acidification.Developed relationships and presented information to public officials, farmers, and educational leaders (WSU and UOI) to collect letters of support and write them into the program.

I monitored the Palouse River and its tributaries, performed riparian vegetation assessment/identified riparian plan communities within stream corridors. Wrote Quality Assurance Project Planning, quarterly, and Load Reduction reports. Wrote grants for environmental improvements. Involved in Stream Restoration Projects and wildlife guzzler installations. Constructed 5 miles of barbed-wire fencing within stream corridor to exclude cattle. Oversaw work of America Corp fencing crews to be compliant with the Department of Ecology's specifications. Worked with water monitoring equipment such as YSI, Hanna, temperature data loggers (Hobo's and In Situ).
