My primary tasks include supporting Imaging operations and Radiologists needs with quality assurance processes and PACS system expertise, implementing process improvements within the department, and facilitating and managing installation of new and updated imaging software and hardware within the organization.

In my current role as Imaging Project Specialist, I am currently working with two different teams within the Radiology (Imaging) Department at SRS, Leadership and Administration and PACS (picture archiving and communication system). These two teams function in quite different ways, but as an overview, I am working to learn how to facilitate and manage projects within the department, learning the ins and outs of the imaging software and report running systems, and getting a better understanding of how projects and process improvement is managed and executed within the department.

My daily tasks include scheduling radiology exams for patients, protocoling and submitting orders for authorization, answering questions about exam details, imaging records, and insurance coverage, and training employees to schedule and protocol exams for patients. I also manage patient follow ups, approvals, and authorizations, and oversee training in the department and the creation and maintenance of the Radiology Department protocol book. Knowledgeable in many radiology exams including MRIs, CTs, mammograms, ultrasounds, dexa bone density scans, x-rays, and biopsy and aspiration procedures.

Taught undergraduate psychology research methods through weekly lectures and personalized hands on assistance. Focused on psychology research from inception to fruition, with hypothesis building, literature review, data collection, data analysis, and manuscript writing. Also assisted in the teaching of statistics in psychology to graduate students, holding weekly office hours and tutoring, as well as test prep, grading, and attendance keeping.
