I got my first pocket camera when I was seven years old. It was a Vivitar with the finger slide button to advance the film. I'll never forget the feel of it in my small hand and looking though the tiny view finder. I was instantly hooked on taking pictures and it developed into a lifelong passion. I know photography is my divine gift and talent because I lose all track of time when I'm at a photoshoot and nothing brings me a greater thrill than capturing a special candid moment on film or composing the most perfect shot. When I look through the lens of my camera, my intention is to capture the home or space as beautifully as it was designed. I prefer to use natural light as often as possible. I'm pretty good now, but I find there's always something new I'm anxious to learn. My goal is to shoot photography like commercial photographer Mike Kelley someday. And, of course, I still work full-time at Hopi Elementary School in the role of principal secretary. I'm super excited to return back in late July for the 20/21 school year. This will be my 8th year at Hopi! I absolutely love my job at Hopi and I am so grateful to work there.
