• Program Manager for the HOPE Martin Delaney Collaboratory for HIV Cure Research, a multimillion dollar NIH funded HIV cure collaboratory.• Track and monitor progress towards milestones, goals and deliverables, including early identification of potential problems and developing solutions to maintain on timeline progress. HOPE’s goals center around drug development, novel gene editing, and targeted drug delivery methods.• Established collaboratory wide budgets and monitor spending; including reconciling areas where budgets are not in line with progress or goals.• Instituted effective methods of communication throughout the multidisciplinary team of scientists and HIV community members across the 16 sites in six countries.• Evaluate external research and notify collaboratory members of important scientific advancements and potential for collaboration.• Serve as the point of communication between HOPE scientists and community groups.• Launched and maintain the HOPE website in collaboration wih an external website design contractor.• Working with all HOPE members to insure relevant regulatory and legal requirements are established and followed.• Spearheaded the HOPE kick-off, an online two day meeting with over 100 attendees; including setting the agenda and arranging speakers across multiple time zones.• Coordinate efficient communication between the NIH Program Officer and HOPE leadership.• Onboarding, training and managing the HOPE Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator assists in administrative tasks such as meeting planning and everyday HOPE wide communications.• Awarded the Gladstone Institute in Virology Excellence in Scientific Leadership Award.

• Oversaw the HOPE Collaboratory NIH application as the Program Manager starting in August 2020, including contacting potential collaborators, setting budgets, and organization of written materials and oral presentations needed for NIH grant submission.• Supervising and training a Research Assistant in a complex research project on regulation of HIV latency.• Studying regulation of HIV latency using next-generation sequencing methods, such as ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, and DRIP-seq, in order to identify possible targets to prevent viral reactivation. • Implemented a new technique, DRIP-seq, at Gladstone through a partnership with a collaborator at UC-Davis.• Determining the role that RNA polymerase C-terminal domain acetylation plays in promoter proximal pausing. • Completed a project studying Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in a novel liver organoid system using single-cell RNA sequencing.

• Studied viral and cellular gene regulation during Epstein-Barr virus lytic reactivation.• Led a project using qPCR and next generation sequencing (NGS) to identify genes differentially regulated during EBV reactivation that may play a role in development of EBV associated cancers, particularly gastric carcinoma.• Discovered a new class of EBV genes that can be regulated by mutant cellular transcription factors using RT-qPCR, western blotting, ChIP, and Northern blotting.• Partnered with bioinformatic collaborators for the completion of analysis of RNAseq , DNAseq, and ChIP-seq data.

• Studied Hepatitis C Virus and Yellow Fever Virus replication.• Performed a high throughput small molecule screen, at the Yale Center for Molecular Medicine, to identify inhibitors of YFV replication in human cell lines. • Responsible for lab manager duties, including organizing laboratory materials, ordering common lab items, and maintaining E. coli and yeast strains for general lab research.

Worked under the direction of Drs. Patrick Brennan and Vara Vissa. I worked using PCR and DNA sequencing to identify patients infected with M. leprae (the etiologic agent causing leprosy) harboring mutations leading to drug resistance.I also tested protocols to purify LAM from M. leprae for use by collaborators in immunological studies.
