Older adults are a population that are typically left out of very important conversations. As someone who has dedicated my adult life to working with this vulnerable population, it has become a passion to ensure that older adults have a strong advocate, and someone working with them who is able to empathize and properly work to make certain their rights are being upheld.While my current role as a sales specialist in technology is different from my role as a food service worker in an assisted living facility, I tend to use skills that I obtained there and am still building on them. Patience was one of the first skills that became clear was needed working in assisted living, and my current role requires a different type of patience. Understanding that not everyone has the same competency levels with technology as myself, and being able to properly asses customer needs and educate the customers in the best way is something I will be able to take with me into any future position.
