I designed and implemented policies and procedures for the largest high school in New Mexico. I scheduled, coordinated, and facilitated all of Atrisco Heritage's special education IEP meetings for each special education student enrolled at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School. This required approximately 700 meetings (Annual and Re-Eval IEPs, Amendments, Senior Exits, and MDRs) each year. I also scheduled and facilitated faculty trainings and support meetings, including potential disciplinary action preliminary evaluations to include proposing a plan to include trainings, support, and modeling interventions for faculty members. I trained the special education faculty on how to effectively utilize a new district wide student information system, to include the mandatory special education IEP drafting, documentation, review and evaluation of each student’s progress, achievements, concerns, and interventions. All without a single due process hearing being filed due to any IEPs written within those three years. I communicated with families to solicit input and share student social and academic progress. I analyzed student assessment data to determine the next steps. I coordinated the retrieval and distribution of student records from other schools and institutions. I communicated with parents to encourage active parental participation in education. I monitored and evaluated educational programs to maintain high-quality performance objectives and standards. I verified student grades, attendance, and schedules, as well as current assessments ensuring that each student received the services needed for them to receive a free and appropriate public education. Together we kept the school in full compliance with established policies, legal requirements, and student safety standards.
