I am the mental health counselor at a local elementary school. I provide counseling services when children enrolled at the school need a higher level of support or care than the school (guidance) counselor can provide. I provide evidence based treatment to help improve a variety of mental health concerns and diagnoses. I support the school by helping to create a staff that is informed about the impacts of trauma and mental health on children and their performance in the classroom. During the Covid-19 school closure, I have transitioned into a telehealth role so that I continue to support the children and families on my caseload.

Forensic Interviewer: - Conduct interviews using the Child First South Carolina protocol with the purpose of gaining information from a child in cases of alleged/suspected abuse or neglect- Complete monthly national peer review through NCAnet, monthly peer review at DCC, and quarterly regional peer review through SCNCACChild and Family Therapist: - Complete counseling with clients affected by trauma.- Provide individual and family counseling using the empirically supported Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) model and TF-CBT with Childhood Traumatic Grief - Facilitate adolescent male therapy group using an empirically supported treatment for Sexualized Behavior Problems (SBP)- Facilitate a psychoeducational group to help teach children about body safety.- Administered multiple types of assessments including TF-CBT Assessments, SBP Assessments, the UCLA-PTSD assessment and the Short Mood and Feelings Questionnaire- Perform case management, medical referrals, and agency referrals.
