Museum Of Science And Industry

A celebration of the navigational and social expertise of cabdrivers inspired by London's surviving cabmen's shelters and the communities that use them. This project was a collaboration with London Transport Museum and the Cabmen's Shelter Fund. Outcomes included engaging and diverse commissions by artists Emma Smith, Kathy Prendergast and Victoria Turnbull.

For ‘Art in Global Health’ I set up six artist residencies in medical research centres around the world – in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Thailand, the UK and Vietnam. The project sought to tease out some of the personal, philosophical, cultural and political contexts of health research. The artists were James Muriuki & Miriam Syowia Kyambi, Elson Kambalu.

Testimony was shortlisted for the Wellcome Trust's first Hub Award. I approached Lisa Jardine with my ideas for the Hub and, together, we formed a team that included Bergit Arends, Daisy Hildyard, Simon McBurney, Claire Ross and Olivia Smith. The project aimed to explore the role of personal testimony in advancing knowledge about our bodies and our health.

Alan Fletcher, author of the best-selling The Art of Looking Sideways, was a founding partner of Pentagram. I worked with Alan to develop street names and a narrative for the Novartis Campus of Knowledge in Basel, Switzerland.

'Medicine Man: the forgotten museum of Henry Wellcome' was a major multi-disciplinary exhibition at the British Museum. The exhibition was designed by Caruso St John, with graphics by Alex Rich and Laurent Brenner.
