Across >25 engagements with clients in the biopharmaceutical and diagnostics spaces, I have conducted primary and secondary research and developed / utilized analytic tools to inform business decisions. I have worked across therapeutic areas to answer questions related to opportunity assessments / forecasting, new product planning, indication prioritization, clinical development and commercialization strategy, pricing and market access, launch strategy, and business development / portfolio expansion, typically guiding a team of 1 - 2 analysts to investigate these areas. Completed thesis research on the metabolism of the fludarabine chemotherapeutic in the laboratory of Dr. Mohamed Donia in the Department of Molecular Biology. Determined the Escherichia coli purine nucleoside phosphorylase responsible for metabolism of this drug and used the implicated gene to find other bacteria capable of this reaction with fludarabine. Examined the conservation of this metabolic mechanism using fludarabine analogs. Findings contributed to Donia laboratory research to improve drug administration in the personalized medicine field. Summer research presented at a poster session attended by 200+ students and faculty.

Researched the connection between foam cell formation/pathogenesis and atherosclerosis in the laboratory of Dr. Beiyan Zhou in the Department of Immunology. Assisted in the design and preparation of a CRISPR-Cas9 experiment to study the foam cell genome, helped develop a flow cytometry protocol to identify foam cells, and conducted trials of the lentivirus creation and infection process.

Examined the effect of Slam gene phenotype on gamma delta T immune cells in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Boyson in the Center for Immunobiology and Infectious Disease. Prepped mouse organs post-harvest, performed flow stain protocol, and observed/analyzed flow cytometry results.Conducted a research review of norovirus studies from the 1980’s – present for Dr. Benjamin Lee in the Department of Pediatrics. This work complemented Dr. Lee's current research on pediatric rotavirus and norovirus susceptibility in Bangladesh. Relevant studies were compiled, condensed, and summarized for efficient reference.
