About Danielle Pullen, Mhr
I am the Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Oklahoma City University. We aid all undergrad, graduate, and health professional students on the main campus as well as all law students at the OCU Law School. Our priority audience also includes staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. Majority of my programs and events are university/community-based. The trainings that I facilitate vary between those audience members. All my initiatives obtain objectives relating to education, awareness, and/or advocacy intertwined. My initiatives include training, programs, events, marketing campaigns, and community outreaches. I understand the importance of partnership and collaborate with various student organizations, offices, and colleges. Examples of a few initiatives I have implemented at OCU are the universities inaugural participation in the MLK Parade, Pride Parades, and Fiestas De Las Americas Parades. The Black History Month panel of living history legends Marilyn Luper Hildreth, Joyce Henderson, and Joyce Jackson to reflect about their activism in the OKC Sit ins. Also virtually hosting holocaust survivor, Gdalina Novitsky to share her story during Jewish American Heritage Month. I orchestrate numerous meetings weekly with students, staff, faculty, community members, and alums to better connect with the campus and understand ways that ODEI can better assist the campus's needs.I recently received my Masters in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and am utilizing the knowledge gained to improve my work for my priority audience.I also am a committee member of the Clara Luper Legacy Committee and a Board Member for Asian District Cultural Association!
