I am a teacher certified in both Michigan, where I have DA and DC credentials, and California, where I have a Primary Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biological Sciences and Chemistry with solid NGSS training and Google Teacher Certification. I am returning to Michigan after teaching for 2 years in Santa Clara County in 6th and 8th grade science. I am a very involved teacher with both my school and my students. Don Callejon in Santa Clara Unified School District allowed me the experience of working with Middle School age students while simultaneously learning and creating my own Phenomena based NGSS curriculum. I have extensive experience in online teaching and the creation of online curriculum with Westwood Cyber High School. Through St. Frances Cabrini I was able to work with many gifted students both as coach, Biology teacher, and college preparation counselor. I strongly believe that we must create an safe and interactive community for students to be able to learn and perform to the highest level. As teachers we are at the forefront of this movement and have the connections with the students that will help create such an environment.
