I am a compassionate educator with a sense of urgency in my daily teaching practices. I care greatly about citizenship education--in educating the whole child--and remain decidedly focused on empowering my students to be fluent readers, writers, speakers, and listeners. I maintain positive relationships with my students, their families, my colleagues, and the community. I work daily on honest and authentic relationships with my students, showing my value of their personal lives and experiences, which allows me to best support them in working toward creating personal goals to have a bright, successful, and literate future. My professionalism and interpersonal relationships with my colleagues remain of utmost importance to me. A collaborative and cohesive team creates positive progress. I value and apply the knowledge I gained from my varied teaching experiences in inner-city public and charter schools, suburban public schools, a Montessori school, private schools, and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit to my daily teaching practices. We all are a culmination of our experiences.I look forward to ways in which I can best support the most students within my ability. I want to learn and grow through vibrant teaching communities.
