I am driven by an optimists’ passion to improve the quality of life and health status of populations. I am a recent graduate from Brock University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health. I aspire to apply my knowledge through evidence informed decision-making, critical analysis and review in a career based in health promotion, education and protection. Through my volunteer experiences with Positive Living Niagara, Leave the Pack Behind and the Brock University Student Health Services team I have had the opportunity to develop my ability to implement health promotion principles and theory, increase my ability to develop relationships with key community stakeholders and engage with the community.I have worked on three very different research projects; I have written and presented three evidence-based reports to faculty members and a variety of stakeholders; I have travelled to 11 countries within 26 days; and I am privileged to currently have the opportunity to further study the processes and the conditions associated with building individual and community capacities. I value equity and meaningful relationships, where acknowledging others is important to me. I often handwrite personal thank-you messages to team members and colleagues to show my appreciation. During my free time, you can catch me wandering in the outdoors as I have a horrible sense of direction (GPS locators have saved me on one too many occasions)!
