I started at Acxiom in 1992. People are amazed that I've stayed at a single company my entire career, but I have enjoyed diverse work assignments and career building opportunities. I have a very diverse background and skillset because of this.I started my professional career at Acxiom as a Software Engineer developing and maintaining code on the mainframe using Assembly Language, writing and maintaining Postal Related software for Address Standardization, address parsing and matching, and file building compression techniques. As our platforms moved towards a more Client Server environment, I moved into more of a technical support role. I coded some C++ and used my problem solving skills to help users troubleshoot problems.I picked up some testing assignments that allowed me to write test scripts for a language developed at Acxiom and test the options and configurations of that language. I became the recognized company expert in coding in this new language and moved into more of a consulting role. This gave me the opportunity to develop training materials and teach classes as well as provide a ton of sample code to internal teams. In this role I also gained experience in writing technical requirements. In the midst of my career evolution I have played the role of team leader for most of the teams I've been on. I have lead anywhere from 3-13 associates at any given time. One team I lead was an Internal and Real-time Consulting team. I worked with Solutions Developers and Architects who provided expert consulting on various applications that needed a more technical resource. I learned Agile and became the Scrum master for a large Platform project. I grew my knowledge of IT by learning more about the network and the tools that help us deliver a solid production environment. I also created standards documentation for our new cloud Dev Ops team.I am now client facing, delivering a new Hadoop Marketing Analytics Environment.
