After spending the past 8 years working on and building up two start up businesses (Everyday Lingerie Co and Shisha Works), I realized the passion I had for sharing my learnings. With such a diverse background this enabled me to look at the opportunities from different views and try different actions.The hardest part about starting your business can be not knowing what to ask and in turn not having all the basics to really give yourself the best start. After navigating this world twice over in two very different categories and with a background in business, I have walked in a new Founders shoes and now know what I wish I could have learned before I started. On the flip side many of us with businesses can find at times that can get set in certain ways and miss opportunities.Working with new and established businesses has allowed me to share my knowledge and real life experience and offer a different perspective to the area or areas that need attention.Working with any new business my focus is towards planning, accountability and price setting to ensure that the product or service has all the key costs including to ensure a great ROI.During this process I have writing my first novel to bring all the knowledge I gained to make it available to others who are starting out, this will be available late 2022.

Shisha Works was born from the desire to bring modern and innovative Hookah products to the Australian and New Zealand market place. From its start in November 2017, we have spent time sourcing and importing products from around the globe to bring newer and modern products to the market with a focus on an offering that has consumers leveling up shisha experience.Key Tasks:- Lead generation- Import / export of goods- CRM creation nd input- Marketing; General SEO, social media, blog and sales calendars- Financial Management; including but not limited to cash blow and budgeting - Event management (full service quoting through to execution)- Inventory management

Focused on ELC as a start up since 2012. With no previous experience in apparel manufacturing, I started from scratch building my network of patterns makers, manufacturing locations with a final result of bringing the Everyday Lingerie range to life. Initially producing in China and importing to Australia then transitioning to Australian manufacturing with over 90% Australian raw materials all locally sourced from Victoria this has been a highly challenging, yet rewarding role. Working across all the areas of the business including but not limited to:- Raw material sourcing- Product development -design, sourcing and QC- Financial management including price setting and monthly reporting and analytics- B2B sales - lead generation and relationship development- B2C sales- Marketing; blogs, social media, advertising- Team leader- E Commerce management; monthly reviews, products, general SEO updates- KPI setting with monthly analytics reviews- Customer service- Business planningWith any startup most are aware that many hats need to be worn and where able to you outsource specific tasks, I have chosen to outsource a number of tasks or specifics throughout the journey, but continually educate myself to ensure that I develop and grow my skill set to help propel the business further.
