Hello, my name is Danielle Shoemake, and I am a fourth-year Honors student at The Ohio State University majoring in International Relations and Diplomacy with minors in History, Arabic, and National Security and Intelligence. I am currently pursuing an Honors Undergraduate Research Thesis in International Studies analyzing commonalities in domestic terrorism in democratic countries. As the graduate of an all-girls academy in Northern Kentucky and President of my sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, I am incredibly passionate about women’s education and empowerment. As a military dependent I have extensive exposure to the Arabic language and culture through my father’s military service, and have studied Modern Standard Arabic and the Levant dialect at Ohio State. After my study abroad trip to Oxford, England to study International Law, I have solidified my desire to attend law school after graduation. I look forward to studying International Law and working in a position where I can advance women’s rights in the Middle East.
