I have an interdisciplinary background composed of engineering/physics, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and optics. My Undergraduate (Physics, BS) and Graduate (Applied Physics, MS) coursework comes from physics and engineering disciplines. My Ph.D research involved operating, maintaining and fixing a home-built Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser system that was used to study the initial photochemistry involved in vitamin D3 formation in lipid membranes that closely resemble the human skin environment. From my position at aLight Science as a R&D Scientist, I have experience in developing detection kits for various biological protein analytes using single molecule fluorescence techniques. I have also developed procedures to optimize and implement workflow for experiments and QC of reagents. I was one of the first starting scientists to contribute to the initial development of the product. Currently, as an Application Engineer at Thorlabs, I support the entire product portfolio through customer inquires worldwide and across a broad range of scientific and engineering fields. This support primarily includes guiding the customer to the best suited product for their application and trouble shooting product related issues within their experimental setup.
